I have been a teacher for 7 years! I love working with children of all ages! I have a BA in Child Development, a Masters in Education and an EdS degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in English as a Second Language. I have been the ESL Coordinator for Lincoln County for the past 4 years and work with all the schools in my county to serve our ESL population. I hope to someday get my doctoral degree and teach at the university level. I would love to someday teach teachers how to teach ESL students. There is no time to quit learning, even as an educator I need to keep learning all I can!

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley where I lived until I was 38 and moved to Fayetteville, Tennessee. I am the youngest of 6 children,
I have 5 sisters and 1 brother. I am the only child in my family that went to college....I have
been in school for the past 13 years! I love learning. I have two beautiful children that think I will be in school even when they have graduated college! They are probably right. I decided to go back to school when I became a single parent right before my son was born (he is now 13) and I have a 15 year old daughter. They have been my motivation to keep going and continue on my path until I reach my goal. They have stood by me through all the tough classes, long hours of study, endless papers and exams. What a wonderful gift they are to me! I am so proud of them and so glad they are mine!

I love Softball! I have played softball for nearly 40 years!I bet you didn't know I played baseball too! I was so fortunate to play on an all-woman's baseball league for two years! I will continue to play ball until I can't play anymore, I love being active and my favorite position is 1st base. I also go to the gym as often as I can; I believe in order for me to be the best parent and teacher I need to be healthy too!One of my most favorite things to do besides playing ball is to read. I love to read all types of books. I enjoy reading the bible, fiction and nonfiction books , novels and almost anything else! However, I love reading books that have several books in series, they are some of my most favorite. You would never have believed that when I was young (a student) I hated to read...anything! If I had to read I would do it just because I had to not beacause I wanted to. Wow, what a change knowledge does. As a student in my adult years I learned that reading was a way to gain an abundant amount of knowledge and knowledge made me feel powerful and SMART!!! I hope all my students learn the value that reading has, no matter how old you get, reading will always keep you smart and up-to-date on the world around you!
